Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is one amongst the most-anticipated smartphones of 2018, and it is now rumoured that Xiaomi is indeed working on the smartphone internally. If a new report coming from China is to be believed, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5 in Q2 2018, unlike the previous Redmi Note smartphones. Also, the device is said to pack the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset, which is the primary reason behind the launch delay.

Usually, Xiaomi releases a new Redmi Note device in Q3 every year, but it did not happen last year for some unknown reasons. The reason behind the delay in the launch may be because Xiaomi did not want to go with the Snapdragon 630 SoC and even the bigger version Snapdragon 636 SoC. That said, there’s no word on Qualcomm on when it’s going to release the Snapdragon 632 SoC.

Talking about the rumoured specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the smartphone may have a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 632 SoC may be clubbed with 3GB/4GB of RAM, and the device may have a maximum storage variant of up to 64GB.

The Redmi Note 5 will have a dual rear camera setup at the back, along with a single front-facing camera. The device will run MIUI 9 out of the box, and it may be backed by a 4000mAh battery or a 3790mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 632 SoC and dual rear cameras is better than the Redmi 5 Plus with Snapdragon 625 SoC and single rear camera, which Xiaomi is currently selling in the Chinese market. The Redmi Note 5 is also rumoured to be priced at 1599 Yuan for the premium variant, which roughly translates to RM984.
